Is Your Dog A Good Fit?
Most dogs are. Here's how to know for sure.
We groom all breeds, including nervous and first-time dogs — but we're upfront about the rare cases where another groomer would be the safer, better choice.

Common Concerns
If this sounds like your dog, we've got you.
Anxious or nervous dogs
We slow everything down — more breaks, gentler handling, and time for your dog to settle before we start any clipping or trimming.
Matted or overgrown coats
Mild to moderate matting is usually fine within a Full Groom. For more severe cases, we'll explain your options — including a shorter clip down — before we start.
Senior dogs
Older dogs often need shorter sessions and a gentler touch around joints and pressure points — we build that into the appointment automatically.
What To Expect On The Day
No surprises — here's exactly how it goes.
Step 1 · Arrival
We'll greet your dog calmly and let them settle in and sniff around before starting — no rushing, no sudden handling.
Step 2 · During
We work at your dog's pace with regular breaks where needed, especially for nervous, senior, or first-time dogs.
Step 3 · Collection
You'll get a quick update on how it went and any notes for next time — plus one freshly groomed, very good dog.
Being Honest With You
When we'd recommend another groomer.
Two situations where we're not the right fit
We don't take on dogs that are aggressive towards handlers, or that require sedation from a vet to be safely groomed. This isn't about giving up on a difficult dog — it's about keeping both your dog and our groomer safe, and being honest when a different kind of care is needed.
If either of these applies to your dog, your vet can usually recommend a groomer experienced with medical-needs or behavioural cases — and we're always happy to point you in the right direction if you get in touch.
